Today we embarked on a journey to the northernmost part of Israel. From there, we hiked along the border of Lebanon and discovered 3 incredible natural waterfalls. This experience got me into a very adventurous mood. Seeing the beautiful waterfalls really was a once in a life time opportunity.
After this, we drove to Kibbutz Misgav Am to hear a speaker that lived on the kibbutz. He had very far-right and borderline extremist views and it was interesting to hear an unusual opinion and challenge him. The kibbutz is based on the border of Lebanon. The community there has been involved in many wars between the surrounding Arab countries. The man had some very interesting things to say that many would debate against, but he was not interested in anyone else’s opinion. Even though I was weary about some of his points, I still found this talk very interesting to listen to and was fascinated by the concepts and ideas that he put forward.
Lastly, we went to the Hula Valley to ride bikes. We had some very funny experiences throughout the ride from crashing into each other, to getting lost in the pitch black night. As the sun set behind the mountains, the beautiful colours of the sky really enhanced the experience of the ride and was an amazing way to wrap up my favourite day of IST so far.
